englishforeveryone.org - Your Favorite Color

I looked around for writing exercise on the Internet and found englishforeveryone.org ^__^ Yeah, childish, whatever. So, current topic: What is your favorite color? Why?

I like blue. I like white. I like green. I like black. I like rainbow. Sure, the question only asks for one favorite color but I can't make up my mind.

I have no idea why I like blue. I've always been attracted to blue since I was a kid. I like almost all shades of blue especially sky blue or baby blue. Maybe because it's the color of peace, relaxation, clouds or something like that. And maybe that's why I like blue. Strangely, I don't have many blue colored clothes. Most of the blues in my life comes from odd trinkets, household items, bags and other stuff.

I like white because it looks clean and clear, very peaceful and nice to look at. While people seems to think of white as a boring color, I think there are reasons why this so called boring color is very popular and a common color for website backgrounds, building or house walls, and lots of other stuff. It is a very useful color as it complements any color in existence without distracting people from the main color, issue, content, theme, whatever. White also makes things seem to have more space than they actually do. In other words, white is a very hardworking and efficient underdog.

I like green because it's peaceful and relaxing. It's the color of many plants. Like blue, I like almost shade of green but the most peaceful to me is the darker ones. The lighter ones seem to be more playful and fun but still quite innocent and peaceful. Unfortunately I have not much greens in my life except in website templates and diet. Now that I think about it, I don't remember seeing much green items on sales at all, not counting the vegetables and fruits of course.

Black is quite similar to white. They compliment other colors very well but unlike the white that refuse to distract us from other colors, the black forcefully pushes our attention so we cannot do anything but focus on other colors. As a white-collared worker, I can't help but have lots of black clothes as it makes it easy to mix and match lots of clothes. Unfortunately, since I tend to wear black coat or jacket everywhere, people tend to mistake me as a police officers or lawyers.

There's nothing wrong of course being a police officer or lawyer but I don't like it when people are afraid of me because they thought I'm doing inspections (I kid you not, that has happened to me before!) or overcharge me when I'm eating in restaurants just because I look wealthy (again, this has happened to me before. Other people get normal rates). That's why I'm working on getting more jackets in other colors this year to correct this misunderstanding.

Rainbows are cool and a fun mix of many colors. Who wouldn't like rainbows? I think that's why people from all over the world are going crazy over Korean artists right now. Their styles are like rainbows too. Lots of colors and fashion styles mixed together. Very cool and fun, isn't it? I don't have any rainbow-colored items though.

So that's why I like the colors I like :)
