Chives and Garlic Chives

I didn't know they are considered as two different plants. I thought Chives is just the shorten name of Garlic Chives.

I know in Malay one or both of them are called Kucai. But, I couldn't tell if we have different names for Chives and Garlic Chives. According to the writer of WARNA-WARNI KEHIDUPAN blog though, we call both of them as Kucai but the one we usually use in Malaysia is Allium tuberosum (Garlic Chives).
